Is CutCap really free?

Yes! CutCap is 100% free. There are no hidden costs, subscriptions, or premium features.

Does CutCap collect my data?

What video formats does CutCap support?

CutCap exports videos in WebM format with VP9 codec by default, ensuring high quality and compatibility with most platforms.

Can I record system audio?

Yes! CutCap supports recording both system audio and microphone audio simultaneously during screen recording.

What's the difference between 2D and 3D zoom modes?

2D mode provides classic flat zoom effects, while 3D mode adds cinematic perspective with spatial rotation, making clicked areas "face the camera" for a more dynamic presentation.

How do I change the language?

CutCap automatically detects your browser's language. It supports English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. You can also manually change the language in the extension settings.

My recording failed. What should I do?

Try these steps: 1) Refresh the page, 2) Restart the browser, 3) Check your storage space, 4) Update Chrome to the latest version. If the issue persists, please contact us with details.

Can I use CutCap on Firefox or Safari?

Currently, CutCap is only available for Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, etc.). We may support other browsers in the future.

Where are my recordings stored?

All recordings are stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB. They never leave your device. You can delete them anytime from the extension's project list.
